ACT TO APPROVE RESOLUTION #17-20, Absence Verification (Mrs. Benitez)

Student absence due to illness or quarantine shall be excused pursuant to California Education Code Section 48205. Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations Section 421 requires the Board of Education to approve reasonable methods that may be used to verify student absences due to illness or quarantine.

ACT TO APPROVE REVISED JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (Mrs. Mills)

In order to comply with Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) pertaining to Administrative Services Credentials (ASC) it is recommended the Job Descriptions for Principal and Assistant Principal be revised.

ACT TO APPROVE EMPLOYMENT OF SPEECH THERAPIST, SEMETRAH HARRIS, ON THE BASIS OF A VARIABLE TERM WAIVER (Mrs. Mills)

The district actively seeks to employ fully credentialed speech therapists. There is a statewide shortage in this profession and we have an ongoing need to find qualified candidates.

The recommended action is to approve the employment of Semetrah Harris as a Speech Therapist on the basis of a Variable Term Waiver.

ACT TO APPROVE EMPLOYMENT OF MOUNTAIN VIEW MONTESSORI CLASSROOM TEACHER, BRI KENDRICK, ON THE BASIS OF A PROVISIONAL INTERN PERMIT (Mrs. Mills)

The Provisional Internship Permit (PIP) allows an employing agency to fill an immediate staffing need by hiring an individual who has not yet met the subject matter competence requirement needed to enter an intern program. Mountain View Montessori Charter School has made diligent recruitment efforts.

The recommended action is to approve the employment of Bri Kendrick at Mountain View Montessori Charter School, Grade TK, on the basis of Provisional Intern Permit as presented.

ACT TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 17-21, ADOPTING THE GANN LIMIT (Mrs. Gleason)

Education Code Sections 1629 and 42123 specify that each year District Governing Boards shall identify their annual estimated appropriations limits for the current year and their actual appropriations limits for the preceding year.

The State approved software was used in calculating the GANN Limits. A copy of the worksheet is included for your information. Also attached for your consideration is Resolution #17-21 adopting the GANN Limit thereby complying with Education Code Sections 1629 and 42123.

The recommended action is to adopt Resolution 17-21 as presented.

ACT TO APPROVE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES CONTRACT #1-16-70-08E TO CDW-G FOR IT GOODS AND SERVICES (SPECIFICALLY SAMSUNG TABLETS) (Mrs. Gleason)

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools District Financial Services requires specific board authorization for each piggyback contract being utilized.

The District has thoroughly evaluated its competitive options and has found the use of this contract to be in the best interest of the District based on value, quality, and a positive relationship with the vendor.

The recommended action is that the Board approves utilization of Department of General Services Contract #1-16-70-08E to CDW-G, for IT goods and services (specifically Samsung Tablets) authorizing Denise Gleason, Purchasing Manager, to sign a piggyback agreement to continue use of this contract for its full term through September 18, 2018.
